It’s absolutely criminal what has happened to kids the past 18 months. I know kids that are nowhere near their former selves after being isolated from the world for a year in their formative years.

The one person I know that died of Covid was about 5’8”, 350lbs, and type 2 diabetic(strictly due to his weight he said). Had he been even 50-75lbs lighter it would have been so much easier on him. Had he been a proper weight, he wouldn’t have had the diabetes issue and Covid would likely have been a few unpleasant days and then recovered.

The old “choices have consequences” thing rears its ugly head again.

Protecting the elderly and otherwise compromised people and otherwise keeping the world open and functioning normally would have likely resulted in far fewer deaths and certainly far less economic devastation.
