Of course
Of course the very senior guys have great pairings. The company was once very small and they were the check guys. But there are more and more check airmen above 200, and they do a lot of IOE and OE too. I've flown with many FO's who did not have the most wonderful, productive pairings for their IOE, and they commented on it.
I really enjoyed my OE flights with Jon. It was the first and last time I flew a daytime SJU trip. So what do we do?? Tell the senior CA's that they are not allowed to have productive pairings?? Because it is so unfair to the lineholder FO's??
Give me a break, There are TONS of great pairings, that senior FO's fly, I often take a look at their sched when we fly together and am amazed. Not all the gravy trips are flown by CA's. The only reason I'm flying a productive trip they were awarded is because of FLICA.
I'm sure that the FLL and LGB FO sched is FINISHED first NOT done first, again because of size of the base.
What do you do? Look at the senior awards and flog yourself because you aren't senior enough to hold lines like that. That is not healthy, get over it. It is like being married to a wonderful woman and just always wishing that she was just a little prettier, thinner, hornier, etc. Perfect prescription for unhappiness and a divorce. Do you ever look at the bright side of anything??
