When I went through indoc I was able to select an aircraft training date ~35 days later. I enjoyed a long summer vacation. My pay anniversary is much later in the year but my seniority is based on that class date.

if you can get to class and select a training date down the road that may certainly buy you some time, but either way if you need the time off everyone will understand. Do what’s right for your family.
