No one said anything disparaging about mil pilots Buck. Last time I checked military pilots (as in those on active duty or serving in the reserves) are not represented by a union. It has been my experience that many people who just separated from the military (pilots or otherwise) don’t understand or fully appreciate what a union does and why they are good because it has not been part of their life before. That’s not to say they can’t learn, but it is not a given. compare that to many civilian pilots have worked at union shops before, (or at the case of skywest they at least have seen via their competitors the benefits of unions) have volunteered in union activities, been reps, etc.

the military, in many ways, very design and function is counter to what a union typically strives for. It’s not a leap to assume that those getting out of the military are not savvy on union workings
