Because that is how you live with Covid when it isn't going away. You have to manage it. Those vaccinated can of course still catch it (why wouldn't you catch it? the vaccine doesn't prevent you breathing in). But the chances of being hospitalized with serious illness go waaaaay down. Going forward, we can't as a society have hospital ICU and critical care beds clogged up by the anti-vax crowd and not have beds available for regular emergencies
When hospitals across the country are willing to fire 10%-20% of their staff I don’t think the ICU problem is nearly as bad as the media portrays. And if it is… seems like it makes perfect sense to fire all those people in the middle of pandemic.
