Short sleeve shirts with ties are asiine. Absolutely indefensible.

The main issue with that however is the current shirts we all use don't look very good without ties either. We'd need to use a heavier blend shirt where the collar stays down.

Military "class A" summer (short sleeves) uniforms could easily mandate a tie, but none of them do...because that would look silly.

No/optional hat would be cool but it'll never happen. Too much cultural sunken capital on that one.
