I have friends at EK, EY, and Qatar Airways. Some have been there for decades and some a few years. It's not a bad ex-pat experience for most as long as you stay out of trouble. QOL is most definitely better at a U.S. legacy or LCC in terms of days off and earning potential. I don't discount what was written in the post and what some may have experienced.
