I though my generation was the lost generation or the lost decade. We had made it to the majors in the late 1990s, but been furloughed after 9/11. While on furlough the retirement age was raised to 65, followed by the financial crisis in 08, extending the furlough to nearly a decade. Many of us moved on, taking jobs at regionals, corporate operators, or as expats. By the time we had been recalled going back made little sense. I was 25 when I was hired at my first major. Over 40 when I got here. That was truly a lost decade.
