When you stay in one of the nicest hotels in the city in a 3rd world country, you tend to be a target.

I once ate breakfast at the Ritz Carlton in Jakarta as part of a Navy flight crew, the very next morning as we were on our way to Malaysia, a terrorist walked into that breakfast buffet in the Ritz and exploded a briefcase killing over a dozen people and wounding many others. Missed us by less than 24 hours!
