Europe, you can fly literally any other carrier that has food and inflight entertainment for 6+ hours. People don’t go to Paris on vacation with only a carry on, and the ancillaries wouldn’t make our fare competitive. Our target demographic is storming a Walmart on Black Friday for a $200 flat screen, not shopping at Harrods.
Plus you have to make the whole fleet ETOPs, and do like JetBlue where only certain pilots are qualified to do the routes.
Deep South America is interesting, but not enough to justify a different type (330 rumors go back nearly 2 decades). If we can do some more with a 321XLR fantastic let’s order some planes and hire more pilots. Just send me a post card because I have no desire to do 8 hours on a red eye in a 320 cockpit.
All great points. Let’s expand our route network in the US and increase the frequency of flights first.
