fencing around the E195/220 protects seniority above/below. No super senior RJ guy can displace on the larger planes. No existing AA super senior guy can displace anybody on the RJ’s. The fenced plane, E190/220 would be open bidding strictly by AAG DOH. The bigger planes by AA DOH, the smaller RJ’s by DOH at the regional.
Anybody hired after signing has no fence protection. So, when everybody eventually retires you have one clean list.
The mechanism to hire was something along the lines of civilian or university only training goes to an RJ group 1, military or guys with 5 or more years 121 experience go to group 2 or 3.
that’s essentially the deal APA and EGL-ALPA worked out back in 2012-2013. AAG was presented with it and after some jiggering around said we had addressed all the issues they’d raised. They said get the FA’s and MX to do the same and it could happen. Then Jerry Glazzhole came demanding more concessions again from Envoy, and APA got bogged down in the SLI and CBA rewrite.
