"I left Alaska X years ago, worst decision I've ever made" = Probably something you'll never hear.
There were FOs who left the eskimo for UAL just prior to 9/11. They were very close to upgrade (5-6 year seniority) but punched anyway. After 9/11, they were furloughed for years along with the rest of the unfortunate boys & girls.
A few years ago, we had a UAL jump seater who was one of them. He said that he regretted his decision to leave, at the time, when he was furloughed but looking back now, it was the best career decision that he has made.
