I often wondered about that when seeing all the fast food employees at CLT. All the extra time for employee parking and clearing security compared to working locally. I wonder if the airport vendors pay more to make up for the extra time it takes to get to work?
In some places they come from staffing agencies... legal immigrants who kind of get funneled in that direction.
