I agree. ABX seems to be losing guys faster than we’re replacing them. Hearing people recommend guys to get hired and they just get turned down. We can find guys, but ABX is still thinking like there’s more pilots on the street dying for a job.
Running classes of 16 from now on! Just hope we don’t hit the bottom of the barrel like we did a couple years ago. If only there was something we could do to get guys to stay. We have the highest 401k deal on the field, pay is comparable, and we got a new contract. There has to be something to get guys to walk though that door and give this place a couple years.
But with majors hiring like they are, Amazon is going up against the big boys. Pay, benefits, growth, plane orders, flying your own product and stability are things that these carriers provide. Amazon is just growth and an uncertain future of who is going to fly what.
