Again, from my experience (stated this in past only to have a few vehemently disagree), A12 rarely means a confirmed seat so your just a notch higher than D1s on standby now and you're not supposed to use A passes for jumpseat.
A12s are not the same as the “A pass” you mention. It’s not a confirmed seat, so it’s acceptable to tale the JS
