The type of certificate doesn't matter. It is based on your schedule. If you are flying from PDX to mostly other destinations in Oregon you will be liable for the state income tax. Most 121 pilots do not spend more than 50% of their time in their domicile state.
Makes sense, appreciate the info. Probably still worth it to live north of the border for slightly lower cost of living and pumping your own gas.
On another note, does Empire provide some sort of crew car at the out stations? I’ve seen on these forums people talk about pilots going hiking, golfing, running, etc… on the downtime between flights, and Empire’s own social media advertises pilots going paddle boarding and fishing on their layover.
Just curious how these people are getting to these activities.
