Your deadheads depend on your trip. Some trips D/H on the the front and back end, (called double deadheads). Others D/H on either the front or back and then others contain no D/H's. (As an example I had over 60 deadhead legs on AA last year, as well as various NW and United legs.) A FDX pilot can either take the scheduled deadhead or "deviate". If you deviate you use a "bank" for the month that is basically your month of scheduled fares added together. When you deviate you can take the airline of your choice, (or train), or drive to the trip. We get miles on AA, United, NW and all of their partners, (as well as some others). The only times you don't get re-reimbursed is if you drive your own car to start a trip or are over your monthly budget. That's all I know......
