It's incredibly difficult to build 1,000 hours flying 35 minute SPS turns. Envoy schedules are incredibly inefficient to begin with, they will put you in a hotel at an outstation (lost day) and you get paid nothing but per diem for the entire day (about $40). Expect that 2-4 times a month.
Other regionals that have rigs, like republic get paid several hours no matter what they do.
I think you are over estimating the number of lost days. Also, while the short legs do suck, the lines are still built to 72 hours. Not that many deadheads so once you get a line it’s about the same amount of hours, just more work. Reserve MAY not have quite as much flying on the 145 as the 175 in DFW. Flying in ORD on the 145 doesn’t have near as many short legs as DFW.
Don't get me wrong, the 175 is a better deal, but 145 isn’t the end of the world and more junior to upgrade.
