I totally agree. Ask any Delta, United, American, Southwest pilot if they submit receipts for hotels or if they have pay deducted when they don’t submit receipts for scheduled hotel reservations. They’d laugh at us for accepting this as a pilot group.

I flew for a charter company that did require hotel receipts from each crew member be submitted after each trip, but we didn’t submit expense reports. The receipts were simply to make sure that we were not charging things to the rooms. It was up to the travel department to pay the hotels and audit the receipts and not the job of the pilots.
