Interesting... I just checked mine - I use the Energizer rechargeable which are NiMH but the typical 1.2v. I get the amber flashing light when they are running low, in both the ProFlight 2 and A20 (my GA headset). When that happens, I swap them with the AAs from the MagLite I keep in my flight bag, then throw them all on the charger when I get home from the trip. Easy peasy 😀
