I’m sure it opens up turns as an option but the commercial deadheads and the option of RON at home seems nice at the out stations.

Living close to a larger gateway has added days at home for me before/after and during trips as well. I commute from PHL and can get a few trips a bid period that start or end a trip from PHL essentially adding 24 hours at home while the clock still runs, layover in your home city can be pretty frequent also, normally 24 hours or so, but can be more. For example I have a 5 day trip later this month and it has a 55 hour layover in PHl.
