Looking back I would have contacted the FAA immediately or got a new medical. Probably the latter cause I was supposed to fly like the next day and I would have had to remove myself.
Huge lesson learned either way.
Learn another lesson - when to just let it go. You do not have to justify every mistake you ever made to the people here, and you are not improving your chances of being employed any by trying to do so. So just shut up about it. Be honest on your application and if you get an interview just admit - WHEN ASKED - that you screwed up and now know better. This isn’t some club you need to be voted into. Your audience for employment is the recruiters. Nothing you say here will positively affect your chances with them.
