I have been pushing that for years. We did get a couple of good turnouts in the past, but most of the time the pilots just don't care about voting.
The company sees that same numbers and knows that pilots also won't care about the next poor contract that they push out to the membership. It looks like the pilots are too busy to vote, so they will too busy to care that they don't get a decent contract as well.
As an outsider looking in, this seems disheartening. It would be helpful to know why people are not taking the time to vote if a portion of their paycheck goes to the union.
