If you get the 220 as a NH, but want LAX, you can
bid a new airplane (to change to a base without the 220) after 1 year. Conversion will happen either 365 or 210 days after the AE is published.
In other words… It may be pretty close to 2 years before you actually see LAX. Rank order accordingly, because the other LAX NH equipment (7ER, 73, and 320) could get you to LAX on your very first vacancy bid. We average 4-5 AE’s per year.
As a single data point, I got NY MD-88 as a NH. There was an AE while I was in indoc, and I successfully bid to ATL 88. By the time I was done with OE, I got converted, and never even had to show up to NYC once…
