Sailing knows the facts. He just tends to be a contrarian and posts against the majority, usually presenting a company-centric POV. That is fine and we need guys like that. He usually has very good information to add to the discussion. UAL blows us away is some aspects of their PWA and we blow them away in other areas. No airline is best at everything. We at DAL are pretty close to the top overall with a few notable exceptions:

Vacation as you pointed out is terrible and industry lagging.
Our 12 month put your life on hold AE system is probably the worst in the system.
5 1/2 hours block minimum for a crew meal is absurd and can routinely result in 7 + hours without food.
Our DH policy pretty much sucks.
Plenty of others.

Then again we beat UAL in some areas. Don't have time to list them but you guys know where we rock.
