Each airline is different. For United you only check in at the ticket counter if it's international. If you queue jump out of ignorance you're still a queue jumper. Read the ALPA guidance before jumpseating on any airline and do it right.
That's great, but ALPA guidance isn't always up to date.
And the OP flies for Northern Air Cargo. Not sure if they're in CASS.
