That is not true, for the last 5 years of jumping on United I always listed at the gate. There is no other way to do it
if you are OAL,, they do not use MyIDtravel or ID90 websites, like AA and SWA and others.
In fact , even that varies a little. In HNL they tell me I can't list until 1 hr before departure. On the mainland I have been able to do it as soon as gate agent
shows up.
Seems like you are confused… you list for
international at the counter. For all domestic flights (to include AK,HI and US Territories), you list at the gate. Although someone may let you jump the line earlier than 1 hour, they shouldn’t be. It’s considered a pretty crappy thing to do.
