Seems APA’s hands are tied in what they can ask of their pilots so when a situation that can give us a huge amount of leverage arises (like the LCA issue) they have to tread carefully. Personally I would have liked to have seen my email bombarded with that letter detailing the poor working conditions on a daily basis as opposed to bs issues like 5g, etc.
I've always said that, if a company wanted to "break" a strike action, it only takes a small percentage of a labor group to break a strike (CKA, management). Thats the historical aspect. PHI helicopters management did it in 2006, I think. Now PHI is not the size of us, and we don't fly helicopters but, for it's size, the PHI strike was a large strike. Company won. What you discuss is a job action that no union can support without Judicial repercussions. This isn't debate, its the law. APA/ALPA/SWAPA etc. are nothing but a shell of themselves and are dinosaur remnants. You pay something for nothing.
But you did say a human nature problem and to that I agree. Outsiders would call it "supply and demand". However, the Federal government has given employees an order: COVID. You've been exposed (based on your word), you have ANY systems (things that look like cold/flu) call in sick. STAY SAFE!!!
You are following Federal guidelines and not engaging in a job action.
