I found the wording in the title of the article and the first few sentences to be misleading. There hasn't been any reporting of increased Covid positives by the airlines that I know of. Yes there are certainly staffing issues but those issues are having enough butts for the seats available.

The fear mongering from the media is the problem. It needs to stop.

Another point of view, it should be the company who wants holiday pay. It would benefit them and their staffing. It is not something the union necessarily should ask for.
