Exactly... yet they need multiple ground frequencies (always NOTAMed down to one), multiple tower frequencies (always NOTAMed down to one), a five page ATIS, a dozen SIDs that all start with radar vectors, and a dedicated T2 ramp frequency that really only needs to cover the gates in the back. Those frequencies, those SIDs, Multiple tower frequncies were all there and set up to support the old AA RDU hub back in the day....... Infrastructure is built up to support a hub, it doesn't just goes away once the hub is shut down. Thats why Pittsburg has all those frequencies and SIDs as well. Same with Saint Louis and the far runway that was built to support a TWA hub.
