You kind of do. Company decides which vacancies to put in a class based on training back log as it relates to aircraft type. Then they decide of that type which base needs staffing. There could be 50 openings in SEA on the 737 but they may not put those in your class. They could put them in the next class and you could be Airbus based in the 320. And if you are young you get whatever is left.
If you’re young, you shouldn’t waist your time at Alaska. Right now American is handling jobs out like Candy. There’s a class every Wednesday for the unforeseeable future of 70 pilots a week. Coming to Alaska would be a waist of time and a big mistake.
