Im curious about this as well, I have a CJO (still waiting on class date) and watching the drops it looks like NYC is drying up compared to earlier drops. I already commute so it wouldn't be a big deal to keep commuting (especially with the positive space, for as long as that is around), but would obviously rather drive to work.

Im assuming conventional wisdom is to bid for the aircraft types that are in your desired base so you can move at some point later down the road without worrying about a seat lock? How often is there an opportunity to change bases? Is there some way to do a base to base swap with another pilot outside of an AE or something along those lines? I've read back quite a few pages to try to figure it out but I'm still uninformed, to say the least, coming from a regional with only 2 bases, 1 fleet type, and base changes/upgrade bids that only happen when the company decides to do it. TIA
