Im assuming conventional wisdom is to bid for the aircraft types that are in your desired base so you can move at some point later down the road without worrying about a seat lock? How often is there an opportunity to change bases? Is there some way to do a base to base swap with another pilot outside of an AE or something along those lines? I've read back quite a few pages to try to figure it out but I'm still uninformed, to say the least, coming from a regional with only 2 bases, 1 fleet type, and base changes/upgrade bids that only happen when the company decides to do it. TIA
I would be shocked if future new hire class drops had no NYC positions. If there is a wide range of positions like there are now, unless you had an unusual amount of people in your class from the NE, you should be able to get NYC. I wouldn't be surprised if NYC still went to the bottom 1/3
