I may have missed this, but where exactly was this reported? It takes a suspension of disbelief to imagine someone with greater corporate ambitions and a resume indicating such would take a role with less responsibility, power and CV cachet.
In addition, you don't need work for someone to be driven away. Working with someone with an unfortunate combination of gross incompetence and hostility can make one look for opportunities elsewhere.

and what vision of his wasnt being executed? Putting all our eggs into the AA basket? Cramming the northeast with more flying? Not buying a **** ton more airplanes? I get everyone likes him because at the pocket sessions he likes to answer pilot “why arent we flying to STL” questions, but it seems to me (and I talk to people too) that he got everything he wanted, was promised the world, and still tapped out.
