My friend got the same thing, status change. He says in the MTC they said “would you be able to come back on XX date” I think a month after the MTC. Whether it’s an actual interview or just a phone call/face to face with HR to say you got “interviewed,” it sounds like MTC gets you scooted up the line at least.
I was told the same thing. Given 3 dates to choose from. Two in early February and one in mid-late February. From what I heard (if I heard correctly), they told me an interview. As you said, whether that's a full on interview or not, I do not know. I was told to choose my preferential day/time and they would send official communication via email soon.
