Now that WBs are a thing out right out of training (crazy times) can someone give a basic explanation of the differences between reserve and global reserve?

I understand the length of time on reserve would be a lot longer, but if I’m willing to live at EWR would it be that bad of QoL to be on a 777/787 from the start?
