40 a month hurts, and is already having effects on upgrades. Left unchecked it will eventually have an effect on deliveries, and deliveries being turned away will have an effect on the bottom line. NK will address it when it starts hitting the pocket book.

The idea that it won’t be addressed seems a bit far fetched. I can fully see our C suite waiting until things get very uncomfortable before they act. But letting the operation crater is unlikely.

They’re still on pace to grow by 10-12% even if 40 a month leave in perpetuity btw. That’s still 300 pilots of growth for a 2800 pilot sized airline. Yes, I know that it could spiral if not addressed. No need to clutch those pearls on that account. It has us all concerned.

BTW, paying each seat an extra $50 an hour is a surprisingly small ticket price increase in an inflationary economy where everyone will be forced to charge more. It’s not some dramatic step where the company tanks because they have to pay the pilots.
