In any case to strongly imply that a new hire pilot would be terminated because the operation fell apart and they couldn't make it to the second week puts the burden on you to show when and how often, if ever, that's happened in the past, and what, if any, circumstances surrounded it.

Also, what percent of the average NH class goes home for that weekend? If its a lot (and I bet it is) that would be a very agressive move that seems hard to defend and doesn't seem like something they would do outside of the most egregious of circumstances.
Will you be fired if on probation and get a DWI?

Will you be fired from delta if you get a DWI and are not on probation?

As I attested to in a previous post , things may have changed. I know 3 pilots terminated in 1 year,,,,THEIR PROBATIONARY YEAR. Two were for sure the result of DWI, the third was a possibility. I subsequently flew with at least 10 pilots that had been thru the HIMS program when off probation. I'll leave it to you to parse the language, but the intent is say....mind your P;s and Q's especially prior to employment, especially during probation and once off probation. If you step on your schwantz/lips you probably have more job security if it happens after probation.

If my kid asked me the question about going home during indoc to the west coast, I would answer his question with a question. "Not knowing the exact answer, and every situation is nuanced, are you willing to risk your job over 1 day off while on probation if things go sideways ?"

If he asked me that question while off probation and mid rotation(like the 350 had ) I'd say go ahead, you won't be fired but you might have some 'splaining to do if things go sideways.

I'd rather give advise of the conservative nature, rather than living on the edge.

Apologies if you think my advise was wrong, The guys in indoc now have two perspectives to choose from, which is good. If things are black and white...I want to know the rules and abide while pushing them if it benefits me(us). This is situation is kinda gray IMHO

Regardless of their choice....WELCOME ABOARD!!!
