Agree. It isn't like that expense sneaks up on you. It's easier to plan for than car repairs, house repairs or even retirement. You know the exact date of the expense 18 years in advance. Dropping a few grand in a 529 then adding a couple hundred a month is all it takes. Military, scholarships or God forbid, working during college are all great options if you start saving late.
I did that exact thing the 529 was a savior for me, it survived a divorce and bankruptcy, almost completely paid for daughters school (she has a year and a half to go)
Back to the original topic the rotations are terrible in my option, I live in base and I don’t mind working but a 4-5 day trip is exhausting when you have multiple legs with short overnights.
The 320 got bad now I see the same trend on the ER.
The company is in melt down and we are expected to step up and fix it?
Then “give”?
