I wouldn't say things are not well here, but in terms of pilots leaving, we are struggling because there are not enough reasons to stay. If you were in DEN, they most likely were commuters to LAS. If they could get hired at UAL that would be enough of an improvement by itself to be worth it. We just need to improve a few things in the contract and I think we could be competitive again.
The thing is, even if our compensation matched Deltas, we would still have people leave. There are a lot of things we don’t offer, intl flying, larger base structure, the “prestige” of flying for a legacy. (I personally DGAF but some people do.) I’m not leaving, but certainly don’t fault anyone for leaving (or staying). Our Upgrade is longer than every legacy. Somebody mentioned the junior CA schedule at a legacy might be brutal, but it isn’t exactly spectacular here either, the difference is they are making more money and have thousands of retirements ahead of them.
