No doubt the landscape has changed and will continue to adjust as the demand for experience will outweigh the supply available. As before, minimums or requirements will continue to decrease as the flood gates open wider and the pool depth becomes more shallow for all major players to draw from. Some criteria made sense while others were more delineator’s than anything else when selecting candidates on the fence. It would be interesting to see historically the transition if any from certain primary hiring/hunting grounds/applicant credentials to where the focus lies today and eventually tomorrow. Environment is a strong driver and timing is a lot of it.
*I will say there are clever management folks out there that hired bare minimum’s with no TPIC (not the major players and cargo kings) to keep them from moving on rapidly to the aforementioned mentioned destinations. Times have changed rapidly these past few years and they are no longer “trapped” as they move on. Never been “easy” to get there, just easier than it’s ever been before. Mil, LCA, ACMI, it’s all good resume fodder and don’t miss the easiest being a good friend recommending you from within. Great opportunity to land where you want. Keep at it!
