As many have explained, it’s a term of endearment. But, a few of our more “sensitive” colleagues mistakenly think it’s a slam. Nothing could be further from the truth. It probably stems from a “who moved my cheese mentality” post merger. Some didn’t like the fact that United’s pilot culture was the one that was embraced, so they dug their heels in like children at everything that wasn’t how it was pre merger. It’s pretty silly when you read/hear it, but as time goes on, most people “get it” and find something else to stress about. I suspect that people like blockplus are just being obtuse. Plus, it’s the forums- an easy way to anonymously unload your frustration at a complete stranger.
Tell me more about this pilot culture that was "embraced"...like calling it a guppy?
