I do know that there are a lot of red dots on the map in the Far East that DAL plans on serving. The merger would let them do this now not later. That is why there is such a big push for it.
DAL also does not want any type of fence due to the fact that they want to realign the equipment as soon as they can. There will be 777 out of MSP and DTW and 400's out of ATL and LAX as quickly as they can make it happen.
How does Delta plan to avoid having the entire airline bidding off their equipment to hold their base?

Glad this is going to membership ratification. Nobody at DAL is going to vote for this and in case no one bothered to notice, the DAL pilots are the majority.
