I’m all for change, and have always thrived on it, but when you start pulling on a thread of the social-fabric that keeps society humming, then I have a problem with it. I’m grateful for the founding fathers’ brilliance and foresight, intentionally creating a system of checks and balances and mild-dysfunction that slows change to a more palatable change. I don’t care enough to want to change your mind, but don’t pretend it’s liberal of you to not respect a differing opinion. Seems to me those that fall left of centrist-left are literally clueless when it comes to basic human nature - they’re the leftist authoritarians masquerading as enlightened liberals.
The clueless are on both sides.
