You are correct sir.
People born with the genetic defect causing hermaphrodites are in a very unique position. Since they are born with both sex organs, I certainly believe that they should be able to choose which one they want to known as.
As far as I know, this is a very rare genetic defect that afflicts a very small number of the world's population.
