Let me start this off by saying that if anyone in this world loves the environment it is me. All of my hobbies have something to do with the environment and I do as much as I can to help make our earth a better place to live. If it where not for clean waters my favorite hobby of fishing would go down the drain, and hunting #2 on my list would probally end up the same way somehow.
BUT let me say this, if we want to reduce the $ of oil and stop making other countrys rich than we need to start doing one very important thing, stop buying their oil and start pumping our own out of the oil rich country that we have ourselves. We have tons of oil in Alaska, the coast of Florida (my home by the way), Texas, California, Oklahoma, and everywhere else in this country. Why are none of the countrys that we buy oil from worried about their environment? When they first built the Alaskan pipeline, environmentalist where worried to daeth that it was going to affect the caribou migration, but you know what they are seen jumping over the pipeline to get where they need to go. I am not a believer in evolution but I am a believer that things adapt on this planet and learn to live with changes. With the technology that oil companys have today when researching drilling sites and actually drilling the effect on the environment is almost nothing besides draining that area of some oil, which I dont believe is neccesary for the earth to have inside of it for everything to continue functioning.
People we need to wake up and allow drilling and more pumping from our own soils, this is the only way we are going to solve this problem, which is now starting to become a bigger national security issue than any terrorist.
