You are way too trusting, besides I clean my headset regularly and there are parts of the a/c I will not touch until I wipe them down (Yoke,
Mic, Caution Switches, flaps, thrust levers, spoilers, RTU's, Trims, Mx Can, armrest, FCP/other related panels and the "Oh ******" handles; to name a few). It only takes a few seconds!
