I haven't been sick in years. I don't think it's being too trusting as much as not being a germ freak. All of these flu shots, wiping everything down, etc. and it seems like those people are the ones getting sick. I'll whipe the headsets and if I remember to whipe the yoke then great if not who cares.
I’m not a germ freak; I just don't want to bring a little part of every pilot who's flown the a/c before me back to my little girl. Because of my actions I haven’t been sick on over 17 months and it only takes me a minute or so to do a quick wipe down. I’ve flown with some who will spend 5-10 minutes and about 5-10 wipes until EVERY thing is clean, but I think that’s overkill.
