I live in Atlanta and would want to be based out of Chicago since I have family there. I'd start out commuting and then eventually move to Chicago. For myself, if I commuted from Atlanta bc of seniority I might have to leave the day before. That would not be a big deal for me since I can stay with family in Chicago. I'd want to fly narrow-body so 737's are a good choice for that and while it changes all the time right now the 737's have better trips than the A320. Also from reviewing this forum getting Chicago does not seem to be difficult.

I think you could hold ORD in 0-6 months, probably less than 6. Commuting from ATL should be pretty smooth, even day-of. United and Delta have flights there, perhaps others. I’m a double commuter through Atlanta sometimes, just have to watch the southern weather patterns a bit.
