You’ll have weekends off in ground school and days off during sim. You’ll definitely want to take some time for yourself to unwind and mentally decompress. 24/7 cramming never usually turns out well. So, if snow sports is your jam, go for it.
MIA sims are usually offered in limited numbers and bid for when you bid your sim schedule. The most senior to bid it will get it. It’s just me, but be mindful of where others in you class live. I had a junior person in my class who lived in MIA with a newborn at home. Despite making it known to people that he really wanted MIA due to his situation, he was outbid by a couple of senior people who wanted “a vacation and per diem”. I always though that was a pretty crummy and selfish move, but I guess seniority is seniority.
